The internet is transitioning from a text-based medium to one dominated by sound and vision.
Spokata’s mission is to make text-based news and information universally accessible as real-time audio.
We teamed up with Spokata’s founder to create a web experience that showcases how the app can turn live news from trusted publishers into real-time audio summations.
We created a brand identity and design system that call on imagery from audio visualization, mixed with the familiar feel of newspaper typography.
We explored a large color palette so each of Spokata’s six channels could have their own feel, and created a type system that allowed for alternating sans and serif headlines.
We used the Ether design library to quickly build and modify components.
A persistent playbar at the bottom works great on any screen size, so you can get daily news summaries wherever you are.
